Important Notice: Meeloop is not designed for collecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or handling sensitive user data. Our platform is intended for social interaction and entertainment purposes only.

1. Information We Collect

When you create a Meeloop account, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address or phone number
  • Date of birth (for age verification)
  • Gender (optional)
  • Username
  • Password (encrypted and hashed)
  • Profile picture and bio (if provided)

1.2 Content You Create

We collect and store content you create on Meeloop, including:

  • Posts, photos, videos, and stories
  • Comments and likes on posts
  • Messages sent through our messaging service
  • Bookmarked and saved posts
  • Meme templates you use or create
  • Media files (images/videos) uploaded through the app

1.3 Usage Information and Device Data

We automatically collect information about your use of Meeloop:

  • Device information (device type, model, operating system, unique device identifiers, mobile network information)
  • Log information (IP address, access times, pages viewed, app features used, crashes and errors)
  • Location information (with your permission, approximate location for Loops nearby users feature)
  • Usage patterns (time spent on app, features used, posts viewed)
  • Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID for Android)
  • App version and update history

1.4 Communication Data

When you use our messaging and calling features:

  • Message content (text, images, videos shared in direct messages)
  • Audio and video call metadata (duration, participants, time, connection quality)
  • Voice and video data during active calls (not recorded or stored after call ends)
  • Push notification tokens for message delivery

Note: We do NOT record, store, or listen to your audio/video calls. Call content is transmitted peer-to-peer and only metadata is stored for service improvement.

1.5 Loops Feature Information

When you use the Loops (Random Connect) feature (18+ only):

  • Custom display name and profile picture for Loops
  • Location data (if you enable "Show my profile in nearby users")
  • Age verification status
  • Connection requests sent and received
  • Conversations with Loop connections
  • Report history (if users report inappropriate behavior)

1.6 Single Sign-On (SSO) Information

If you choose to sign up or log in using Facebook or Gmail Single Sign-On, we receive basic information from these services as permitted by your privacy settings on those platforms:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Profile picture
  • User ID from the SSO provider

We use this information only to create and authenticate your Meeloop account. You can review and manage permissions in your Google Account settings or Facebook app settings.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our service and store certain information:

  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, abuse, and security concerns
  • Verify age for compliance with age restrictions (13+ for app, 18+ for Loops)
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines

  • Conduct analytics and research to understand user behavior and improve our services
  • Protect the rights, property, and safety of Meeloop, our users, and the public

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 With Other Users

When you post content, send messages, or use social features, your information is shared with the users you interact with. Your profile information, posts, and stories are visible according to your privacy settings. Public posts can be viewed by all Meeloop users.

4.2 With Service Providers

We may share your information with third-party service providers who help us operate our services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us:

8. Data Retention

8.1 Active Accounts

  • Account Information: Retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after deletion
  • Posts and Content: Retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after deletion
  • Messages: Retained until deleted by users or 30 days after account deletion
  • Usage and Log Data: Retained for 12-24 months for analytics and security purposes
  • Backup Data: May be retained in encrypted backup systems for up to 90 days for disaster recovery
  • Legal Compliance Data: Retained as required by law (e.g., financial records for 7 years)

8.3 Account Deletion

When you request deletion of your account:

  • Your profile and personal information will be removed from our active databases within 30 days
  • Your posts, comments, and other content will be permanently deleted
  • Your username will become available for others to use after 90 days
  • Some information may be retained in backup systems for up to 90 days
  • Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for analytics
  • Information required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention may be retained longer

8.4 Inactive Accounts

Accounts that remain inactive (no login) for 2 years may be automatically deleted after we send you a reminder email. You will have 30 days to log in and reactivate your account before permanent deletion.

9.4 Data Portability

9.5 Opt-Out of Communications

  • Promotional Emails: Click "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any promotional email or adjust settings in your account
  • Push Notifications: Disable in app settings or your device settings
  • SMS Messages: Reply "STOP" to any SMS or adjust settings in your account

Note: You cannot opt-out of essential service communications (e.g., security alerts, account notifications, Terms updates).

9.6 Location Services

You can disable location services for the Loops feature in your device settings (Settings → Apps → Meeloop → Permissions → Location). This will prevent the "nearby users" feature from working.

9.7 Camera and Microphone Permissions

You can control camera and microphone access in your device settings. Disabling these permissions will prevent you from posting photos/videos or making audio/video calls.

9.8 Advertising ID

You can reset or limit ad tracking on your device:

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization

9.9 Object to Processing

You have the right to object to our processing of your personal information for direct marketing purposes or when we process data based on legitimate interests. Contact us at hello@meeloop.com to exercise this right.

9.10 Withdraw Consent

Where we process your data based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing before consent was withdrawn.

10. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Age Restriction: Meeloop is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

10.1 Age Verification

During account creation, users must provide their date of birth. Users under 13 are not permitted to create accounts and will be blocked from accessing the service.

10.2 Loops Feature Age Restriction (18+)

The Loops (Random Connect) feature is restricted to users aged 18 and above due to the nature of random connections with strangers. Additional age verification is required to access this feature.

10.3 If We Discover a Child Under 13

If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will:

  • Delete the account immediately
  • Remove all associated personal information from our databases
  • Block the user from creating future accounts

10.4 Parental Rights

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has created an account, please contact us immediately at hello@meeloop.com with:

  • The child's username or email address
  • Your relationship to the child
  • Proof of parental authority (if required)

We will delete the account and all associated data within 48 hours.

12.4 Right to Non-Discrimination

You have the right to not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your CCPA rights. We will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide different quality of service because you exercised your rights.

12.5 Authorized Agent

You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf. The agent must provide proof of authorization, and we may require you to verify your identity directly with us.

13.2 How to Manage Notifications

  • In-app: Settings → Notifications → Choose which types to receive
  • Device settings: Settings → Apps → Meeloop → Notifications → Disable all

13.3 Marketing Communications

We only send promotional marketing emails if you opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of emails or adjusting your email preferences in account settings.

13.4 Data Collected for Notifications

We collect push notification tokens (device identifiers) to send you notifications. This data is stored securely and only used for delivering notifications.
